Post-ACL surgery problems
Could loss of knee extension after ACL reconstruction be caused by a cyclops lesion?
Author: Dr. Jiwu Chen
Doctor’s answer
Yes. After ACL reconstruction, limited extension, a catching sensation in the front of the knee, or stalled rehabilitation should prompt assessment for an intra-articular scar nodule, joint stiffness, graft impingement, and muscle inhibition. Early cases may improve with structured rehabilitation; persistent extension loss may require MRI and arthroscopic assessment.
