Doctor’s answer
Not always. Treatment depends on symptoms, tear pattern, acetabular coverage, bony impingement, cartilage condition, and sport demands. Mild symptoms can start with rehabilitation and load adjustment. Persistent groin pain, catching, and limited sport with matching imaging and examination may warrant arthroscopic repair or treatment of associated bony problems.
