Meniscus treatment
Can meniscus transplantation be done after meniscectomy?
Author: Dr. Jiwu Chen
Doctor’s answer
Selected patients can consider it. Meniscus transplantation is mainly used in young or middle-aged patients with persistent compartment pain after meniscal loss, without severe cartilage degeneration and with suitable limb alignment. Obvious osteoarthritis, severe malalignment, or instability requires comprehensive assessment first.
