After hip arthroscopy
What should be done if pain recurs after hip arthroscopy for impingement?
Author: Dr. Jiwu Chen
Doctor’s answer
The pain source should be reassessed, including residual bony impingement, recurrent labral injury, cartilage damage, capsular problems, hip flexor tendinitis, and lumbar-sacral or sacroiliac sources. Management may include rehabilitation adjustment, repeat imaging, diagnostic injection, and, in a small number of patients, revision surgery assessment.
