Sports Neurological Injuries
Can one immediately return to play after recovering from a 'stinger' or 'burner' injury to the brachial plexus?

Doctor’s answer
A professional evaluation is necessary. Return to play should only be considered after symptoms have completely resolved and strength and range of motion have been restored; persistent weakness or neck pain precludes continued play. Recurrent episodes, bilateral arm symptoms, or persistent symptoms warrant further investigation for cervical spine and nerve injuries and targeted rehabilitation.
