Rotator cuff disease
Does calcific rotator cuff tendinitis always require surgery?
Author: Dr. Jiwu Chen
Doctor’s answer
Most cases can first be treated with activity modification, anti-inflammatory pain control, rehabilitation, shockwave therapy, or ultrasound-guided needling and lavage. If pain keeps recurring, the deposit is large, or non-operative care fails, arthroscopic removal can be discussed.
