Rotator cuff disease
Can a partial rotator cuff tear recover with rehabilitation?
Author: Dr. Jiwu Chen
Doctor’s answer
A partial tear does not always need immediate surgery. When pain is manageable and strength loss is limited, treatment may begin with rotator cuff strengthening, scapular control, and range-of-motion work. Persistent night pain, clear weakness, or tear progression warrants reassessment for repair.
